Introduction: Hi, everybody! Jon Graham, Georgia Baptist Mission Board, here, and for my very first blog post on gabaptist.org, I’m going to give you something that is not directly related to my area of expertise, although I love what I’m about to show you.

I’m the video guy here, and I can tell you all about how to make videos and edit videos, but I want to give you some free tools to use for your church. Primarily these tools would be used for social media, websites, and those kinds of things.

So let’s dive in. I think you’re going to love this, because the best part is it’s free! It’s called Adobe Spark. You can use an Adobe login, Facebook login, or Google account. It makes it easy to login.

The difference between the free services and the paid services is your ability to control the brand. They leave their brand “Adobe Spark” on the things that you create, but it’s a watermark. For $10 a month you can you can get rid of that so it’s up to you.

After you login, you can create a post, a page, or video. In today’s demonstration, I use a theme around Vacation Bible School. There are a few different things that you can choose from – a mission statement, social media posts, letterhead, posters, thank you notes, etc. All kinds of crazy stuff. We will start with a Facebook post for the demonstration.

After you choose your template, you can add pictures to prevent your post from being boring. The great feature on Adobe Spark is that you can find free photos. Just because something is on Google doesn’t mean you have the right to use it. Go to places that you know you have the right to use the photo. You can always do a Google search for “find free photos.” Of course, you can upload your own images if you want to.

For our VBS theme, I will use a picture of children. Adobe Spark allows you to drag and resize the image as needed for your post. You can see the demonstration in the video above. You can also move, resize, and customize your text. With Adobe Spark, you can easily add shadows, change the font, outline the font, create cut outs, change the color, etc.

When you’re finished with your image, you can hit the “Download” button in the top right-hand corner.

I also demonstrate how to create a landing page, which could be part of a total marketing package. Adobe Spark allows you to do this, and much more. Watch the video for more info!

In what ways can you see this tool being helpful for your ministry? What tools do you use?
