1 Corinthians 2:1-2 (ESV)
And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
As we look around our nation in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, global protests, and political unrest, it is obvious that our country needs to experience the saving power of Jesus Christ. I believe that if you and I pray, we can experience a spiritual revival right before our eyes. As we pray for salvation, let us be reminded of what it means to be saved. When we commit our lives to Christ, Jesus releases us from the grasp of sin and Satan. He reconnects us back to God and redirects us so that our lives are in alignment with Him. He saves us from the presence of sin when we go to heaven.
Similar to the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:1-4, let us desire more than anything for people to be saved. Paul was very interested in proclaiming his testimony about God, helping others know Christ and their need for salvation, and strengthening the faith of other’s through the power and sufficiency of God.
